The process
Selection Questionnaire (SQ)
A standard set of questions used to shortlist suppliers on capability and standing before they bid.
The SQ (formerly the PQQ) checks whether a supplier is eligible and capable — covering things like financial standing, relevant experience, insurance and compliance — before they're invited to tender.
It's usually pass/fail or scored, so accuracy and completeness matter: a strong technical bid is wasted if you're filtered out at the SQ stage.
