Procurement Act 2023
The law, live since 24 February 2025, that governs how most UK public bodies buy goods, works and services.
The Procurement Act 2023 is the biggest reform of UK public procurement in a generation. It replaced the older EU-derived regulations with a single regime designed to be simpler, more transparent, and more open to small and medium-sized businesses.
For suppliers, the headline changes are a single central digital platform for notices, a richer set of notice types that appear earlier in the process, and a stronger emphasis on transparency before and after award. Tracking the new early notices is the practical way to get ahead.
