The wider economic, social and environmental benefits a contract delivers, which carry marks in most public bids.
Social value covers the additional benefits a supplier brings beyond the core goods or service — local jobs and skills, support for SMEs, environmental improvements, community wellbeing.
It's a scored, weighted part of most UK public sector evaluations (commonly around 10% under PPN 06/20), and the best answers are specific, measurable and genuinely deliverable.
